Dholera SIR, with its 900 square kilometers of land, is expected to become Gujarat’s next premium site and a significant smart city. Due to its location near the DMIC corridor and a metro line built for smooth transit inside the city, the city provides good access to one of India’s most significant financial and national capitals. A separate six-lane highway between Ahmedabad and Dholera is also being built. All this and several upcoming commercial and industrial projects call for more workforce, and that’s why there is a need for a high-end healthcare facility for workers in Dholera SIR.
So, The Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR) is in talks with the Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), which comes under the Ministry of Labour and Employment, to allot land for a 200-bed healthcare facility. DSIR’s goal with the launch of this initiative is to offer affordable healthcare to Dholera SIR’s workers and employees.
Let’s Throw Some More Light On The Matter
Dholera SIR, which employs over 4500 laborers, has a necessity for a hospital, as the manpower will rise as a result of forthcoming connection projects and the development of new industrial units in the special dholera Sir investment area, leading to new horizons of growth in the region. Bhavnagar and Ahmedabad are the closest cities at the moment, with large hospitals 65 and 110 kilometers away, respectively.
The Ministry has approved and begun the proposal filed by Dholera Industrial City Development for the establishment of an ESIC hospital, according to the announcement. DSIR has already selected a land piece for the health center in the activation area. Out of 920 sq km, phase-I of the activation area is currently being developed (22.54 sq km). Because Dholera is undergoing migration of skilled and unskilled workers for the current building operations in and around the activation region, it will have an influence on the DSIR’s growth.
What Hareet Shukla, IAS, Managing Director, Dholera Industrial City Development, Said, Regarding This Matter?
As per his statement, the Ministry has shown green light to the proposal, and discussions with authorities from the state ESIC on the establishment of an ESI Hospital in Dholera SIR have begun. This would be extremely beneficial to the employees and, as a result, would provide a significant boost to the region’s growth. The healthcare center will service not only current employees and workers but also future development as a result of ongoing and planned connectivity initiatives.
In addition to this, ESIC has investigated the problem and got preliminary findings to determine the viability of establishing an ESIC hospital at Dholera since it already fulfills the minimal requirements of Insured Persons (IPs) necessary to establish an ESIC hospital.
Dholera is a Greenfield region with enough social and municipal amenities for expanding companies. A Dedicated Freight Corridor, gateway seaports, a separate rail line for goods transportation, and a Mass Rapid Transit System (MRTS) have also been proposed to give extensive access to the Dholera Smart City from Ahmedabad. All this will require more workers and employees to move towards Dholera, and in that case, for their safety, establishing a nearby healthcare facility is a must.
